How often do we let conditions beyond our control or our handicaps hold
us back from going for our dreams?
I came from a poor family,
and my parent cannot send me to a good school.
I have bad genetics, so I cannot
practice any sport.
People in my company hate
me, so I cannot move up to the ranks fast.
... And a
lot more excuses that we can think of.
Too many of us quit just because we think that we are handicapped.
Too many of us make excuses because life is just too tough to handle and
reality is hard to accept.
But once in a while people who will pursue their dreams despite
all the odds are born in this world. These kinds of people inspire others to
continue to strive for their own dreams no matter what happens.
One such person is Nick Vujicic. He was born limbless, missing
both arms at shoulder level, and having only one small foot with two toes protruding
from his thigh. Could you imagine how life would be without limbs? What would
you be able to do without arms and legs?
Nick is a living testimony that nothing is impossible. Despite his
condition, he is able to surf, swim, play golf, play soccer, and many more! He
was able to graduate from college at the age of 21 with a double major in
Accounting and Financial Planning. Now at 27 years of age, he is a distinguished
author and the owner of his own motivational speaking company and travels
around the world following his passion to motivate people and encourage them to
pursue their purpose in life.
never let anything stop him from achieving his dreams and helping people. Hope
we all learn from him and live a big life!
